Family life
I have a wonderful wife and great kids. I got them considerably early. I married in '81 got the first kid in '82, the second in '85. They both have now left home and live their own lives. With their own children. Great kids, I'm telling ye'!
Growing up
I grew up in Denmark in the city of Aalborg, in the west end; Hasseris in the '60ties and '70ties. It was a time of much development in the city and of great changes. Big new shops, a motorway/an expressway, a car tunnel, a university, two new large hospital buildings, a couple of new senior high school (Hasseris Gymnasium being one), larger schools - closing of the smaller ones, whole new sections of town were built. The '60ties were booming.
The '70ties started out real strong, but in 1972 the whole society was kinda holted due to the oil crises. The municipality of Aalborg started a new excistence by a merger of several smaller ones. The Royal Greenland Trade moved to Aalborg and a new harbor was built.
Probably the Aalborg University was and still today is the best investment in the development of the city. The age of information began in Aalborg.
Thoughts
As a young man I changed my ideology of life. Friends thought nothing of it, but my life has been based on this ever since. This led me to new friends and environments I had never encountered in my upbringing.
To think that there are such great gaps and boundaries between sections of society is truly amazing.
This awareness is really still an inspiration to me.
Bridging gaps is an educational challenge also.
