We have traveled with the kids
earlier around Europe.Our trips have been mainly in our car, with tent or camper.
Sweden in summer is not always warm! -One summer morning we woke up with frosting on the tent!
At another time we retrieved into a rented cabin for two nights before heading home again. It rained all 14 days.
We also did go of with almost no money a couple of times. Nothing was to stop the 'trippers'. Once we came home and had only 25 řre/3-4 US-cent left to our names -Ha!
'Die Rosa Rote Jahr der Bahn' gave us a chance to go, even when we really could not afford it. We slept in the house of Frau Hings. We called her Frau Hingst, as it was a house of several young men living together also. There was The bed was a kingsize but in the middle was room for all our clothes and that didn't even level it out. The Zoo in that city was fine though. The last money we spent on bread and cheese and I forgot it in the store in Göttingen. We had to go non-stop home by train, slept there and ate only bread -Ha!
To the Czech we drove with our new car and a way too large camper. At the German/Czech border there was a detour up and through a small village. It was raining and the pavement was cobble stone. Steep hills, large camper, cobble stone, rain, small car.... We made it, -barely!
We spent our vacation in 2006 in Slovakia with the kids. After a week we were robbed and had to go home on the credit card of our son!
The later years we have traveled a little further.
Now we go just the two of us
and we have finally been outside Europe together.
Summer vacation 2007 was in the US.
We were in Israel for 3 months in 2008.
Also there we got friends we will never forget.
Besides this are the returning trips to the south in the winter!!
